Goodacre responds in the Erhman/Garrow $1,000 wager

Mark Goodacre has responded to the mysterious commenter, “Evan,” who posed a $1,000 wager to Bart Ehrman if he wasn’t convinced that Alan Garrow had decisively disproved the existence of Q in this series of videos.

Goodacre is quick to point out that Garrow does not, contrary to the comments of Evan, seek to debunk Q at all. Rather, Garrow is the first to identify Q with the Didache (we are actually publishing an article by Garrow on the Didache next week on theLAB). Goodacre then goes on to address Garrow’s model and its account of high and low verbatim between Matthew and Luke.

You’ll need to read Goodacre’s response in full yourself, however, to see Goodacre’s analysis of Garrow’s model.

Alan Garrow will himself publish his own response to Goodacre here on theLAB shortly.

In case you missed it, here is our earlier post , which gives the context of the wager.
