It’s time once again for a new monthly sale! Every month we put over a hundred products on sale, letting you pick up some of the best works for the lowest prices. This month, we have quite a few academic resources on sale that will enhance your study. However, make sure that you get these resources soon, because this sale goes away after September 30th! Here is just a sampling of what is available in our September Monthly Sale:
Biblical Languages: Reference Grammars and Introductions (19 vols.)
Regularly $349.95 – get it for $299.95
The study of the Bible has its foundations on the very words of Scripture. To this end, many scholars have spent lifetimes pouring over the grammar and syntax of the Hebrew Old Testament and Greek New Testament. Here in one collection are some of the greatest biblical language reference works ever written, including Smyth’s A Greek Grammar for Colleges and Westcott and Hort’s famous Introduction to the New Testament in the Original Greek. Using the Logos software, their insights can be yours as you study the original languages of the Bible.
A Critical and Exegetical Commentary on the Epistle to the Romans, vol. 2
Regularly $53.95 – get it for $47.95
C.E.B. Cranfield’s commentary on Romans seeks to combine superb lexical study with theological acumen. Writing after the conclusion of World War II, Cranfield is aware of the changing arena of New Testament studies while still offering a Reformational reading of important passages in Paul’s letter to the Romans. Logos’s Passage Guide gathers all of your relevant commentaries together to help you go deeper in your study of the book of Romans.
Dictionary of Jesus and the Gospels
Regularly $53.95 – get it for $47.95
Since the 19th century, there has been a surge of literature on the Gospels and the historical Jesus. This dictionary, considered a classic work of New Testament scholarship, brings together some of the top scholars to discuss topics specific to Gospel studies, such as various interpretive frameworks and key terms. Unlike the print version, this work is smart tagged, linking your other Logos resources with this dictionary to assist you in understanding the Gospels.
Get these deals before they’re gone!
These are some of the hottest academic resources available and are now at a special, low price. However, once September is over, these products go back to retail price.
It is important to be aware that the first edition of the “Dictionary of Jesus and the Gospels” (offered here) was published in 1992 and that the second edition was published in 2013 – but is not yet available from Logos (no doubt it will be eventually). The second edition is described by the publisher (IVP Academic) as “a thoroughly reconstructed and revised version,” so the differences are significant. I find value in having both editions and, while I have purchased the print version of the second edition, await publication of the Logos edition because of the many benefits that flow from the dictionary being integrated into my Logos library. Some users may prefer, however, to wait until the second edition becomes available on Logos. For the new edition, Joel Green is the General editor (he was the co-editor with Scot McKnight for the first edition), with Jeannine Brown and Nicholas Perrin as Associated Editors.
