Samuel Rutherford 2009 Devotion

BE SURE TO READ THE ENTIRE POST FOR THE EXCELLENT DEAL FROM BANNER OF TRUTH ONLY AVAILABLE UNTIL JANUARY 15, 2009!!!

Way back in August, I wrote a book review on The Loveliness of Christ. What I did not know was that that book was basically a book of quotes stemming from a larger work entitled The Letters of Samuel Rutherford. What I then discovered was that there were two editions of The Letters. The smaller edition contains sixty-nine of the letters while the larger, original edition contains 365 letters.

I mentioned in my review that this larger edition would make a great devotional in 2009. As I have continued to meditate upon The Loveliness of Christ, I have become more and more excited to plumb the depths of the godly man that is Samuel Rutherford using his letters as a devotional. The good people at Banner of Truth have been gracious enough to offer a deep discount for Going to Seminary readers. Their offer is for phone orders only and is good until 15 January 2009.
